Buying a Home, It’s an Art!

I was at a business conference a few years ago when I heard one of the speakers say “Know what you want, but take what you can get!” when you find the home of your dreams.  That’s when it struck me that negotiating for anything is truly an art! Just like a devoted pianist that practices for several hours daily, any artist knows that it takes time to really become great.

When it comes to buying a home, you may need to rely on your instinct and gut feelings, is this the house of my dreams. Negotiating for that property is an art, however any property is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, know what you want and what you are prepared to pay.

So when I understood the true value of negotiating is like a ping pong back and forth is all about, the key is don’t take it personal, reaching a compromise between seller and buyer parties is your goal.

Once you do find that home that you’re ready to put an offer on, understanding the paperwork can be a bit overwhelming with the specifics of the contract other than the price of the home.

There may be some additional items that need to be repaired, inspections or things removed from the property these need to be clear in the contract.
